Description:  Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in May of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2291 and three more diesels. #2291 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in June of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. In this context, they're rounding the Curve with an autorack train and are heading down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. (#15 of 39)

Description:  Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in May of 1966. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2291 and three more diesels. Among them is engine #2410, an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. They've rounded the Curve with an autorack train and are heading down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. (#16 of 39)
