Description:  Price. Here is a photo by Bill Price that was taken near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, on 7 October 1946. Caption On Reverse: "EB Coal Train." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6715, an M-1A built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A during April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B by 1953, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. It's passing the Huntingdon Icing Plant with a mineral train out of Altoona bound for East Coast markets. (Gift from Brad Mann.)

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6871, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during October of 1926 and retired in March of 1950 after 24 years of faithful service. In this context, it's passing through Newport's Passenger Station on its way from Enola to Altoona with a mixed-cargo freight train.

Description:  Price. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken near Enola, Pennsylvania, on 28 October 1954. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9785 and three other F-Class units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each; #9785 was built in February of 1951. They have just departed Enola Yard with a mixed-cargo freight train on their way to Altoona and points West.

Both are Class M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" steam locomotives. #6715 was constructed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A during April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B by 1953, and retired in September of 1959. #6787 was built by the Lima Locomotive Works as an M-1A during April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in September of 1946, and retired in September of 1959. In this context, they're passing under Signal Bridge #1160 with a train of empty hoppers bound for Altoona and the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania.
