Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania, c. 1976. Shown here (L to R) are Conrail engine #4446 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are E44 (C-C) electrics built by General Electric and rated at 4,400 horsepoter each. #4446 was constructed for the Pennsylvania Railroad in October of 1962 and rebuilt as an E44A in October of 1967. The Atglen & Susquehanna Trestle dominates the background. ("PrrFan18n") |
