GTW 6323 was built in 1942, one of the last steam engines the railroad bought new. It hauled freight and passengers until 1957, only to be used as an excursionhauler until 1961, when it pulled the last regularly scheduled mainline passenger train powered by steam. That same year, an IRM member purchased the engine, giving it to the museum in 1994, making it the smallest Northern the railroad owns. |
