PRR 4747, P-5A(M), 1953         
Meadows. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Engine Service Tracks at Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, on 19 September 1953. The photographer is not identified. Prominent here (L to R) are PRR engines #4747 and #4726. Both are 2-C-2 electrics built by Baldwin-Westinghouse and rated at 3,750 horsepower each. #4747 is a P-5A (Modified) built in March of 1935 and retired in April of 1962, while #4726 is a P-5A constructed in December of 1932 and retired in May of 1963. Note that all of the pantographs are in the "down" position. ("Stoneborobranch"; #10 of 32)
