Tom Beckett	General	That's funny. Maybe it's a reverse hi-rail?? There are a number of these cars in service on UP. There's one assigned to the industrial park on the ex MKT in Pryor OK, used on the local there. Apparently they do a lot of shoving over public roads in the park, and it's used as a "shoving platform" to provide a place for a trainman to ride while doing this, rather than have him hanging on a freight car ladder. Conrail had a number of these as well, former transfer cabooses that aren't really used in transfer service any more. They'll probably hang on forever, but it's still a nice thing to catch.	7/1/2019 3:36:03 AM
