| Still wearing the whitewall wheels, this 1913 Alco-Brooks 4-6-2 Pacific type locomotive was a handsome member of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific roster. Specs - class P-40, 74" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 25.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 281,500 lb, tractive effort of 39,736 lb. The class was retired starting in the late 1930's but some lasted unitl 1952.No date was listed by photographer Robert Graham for this photo so an approximation was used. |
