Here is a photo that was included in the "Altoona Area Railroad Pictorial History" edited by Linda White and published in 1996 by The Altoona Mirror, page 60. Photo Caption: "A railroad crew with their lanterns along side a locomotive at the Altoona Shops in the early 1900s." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #33, an H-6A (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during January of 1905 and retired in November of 1928 after 23 years of faithful service. |
