Nostrand Av  Contributor's Pick!
The first time I rode into Brooklyn on the LIRR, the station at Nostrand Av still had a wooden platform. MTA finally put some money into the line, rebuilding the station with a concrete platform that was a vast improvement. While not as busy as the Main Line to Penn Station, the Atlantic Branch still carries almost as many trains, though the intermediate stops, this one and a station at Woodhaven in Queens that had only a few trains stop, were not heavily patronized.
