SCL 4900 - Seaboard Coast Line  Contributor's Pick!
Originally built by the St Louis Car Co in April of 1936 as SAL #2028, it was re-painted with the Seaboard Coast Line logo after the 1967 merger. Most of its SCL short life was spent servicing Florida passengers up to Amtrak taking over the SCL passenger service in 1971. No informaiton (date, location, photographer) was given for this reprinted photo but thanks to Mike Woodruff (see comment below), it is an RPF coach & SCL doodlebug duo in Lakeland, Florida.

Randy Chassereau General Nice photo. I wish it could have been put on display in a museum. It was photographed a lot. Thanks for posting. 8/31/2016 1:35:56 PM
Mike Woodruff General Location is Lakeland, FL. The 4900 appears to be coupled to an RF&P 850-series Budd 54-seat coach. These cars were built as part of a SAL order. 8/31/2016 3:49:21 PM
