UP GP38-2 2294         
Union Pacific Railroad GP38-2 2294 with North Little Rock style lettering at Cotter, Arkansas on December 11, 1992, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This was one of the last UP trains to leave Cotter. The Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad leased the former MP White River Division from the UP and assumed operation the following day (December 12, 1992). Left to right: Engineer Bill La Barreare, Conductor J. T. Davidson, Brakeman A. L. (Leon) Shipman Jr.. The UP employees were offered the choice of remaining with the UP and retaining their senority but requiring them to relocate, or staying in their homes and starting fresh with the M&NA.

AD Scroggins General I work for the UP and the UP still owns the White River Division...the MNA leases the track from them but doesn't own it. There were trainmen that relocated but there were fireman that sat at home and have drawn a check for years that couldn't be forced anywhere per agreement. Great cha 1/1/2016 7:26:14 PM
