WSOR 10C
After a weekend of touring the WSOR system, the business train returns to Madison. In a city of mostly small-time, localized railroading, it&feels great to witness vintage equipment in regular operation. Scenes like these are rare, and I'm certainly glad that I got out to fan the WSOR today!

Shawn Becher General Nice shot Brian! I see two signals in the picture. Does the WSOR use them, or are they just there from the previous owner? 4/4/2006 7:18:36 PM
Brian Connolly General This location is known as MX crossing, a diamond in the middle of Monona Bay (of Lake Monona). The WSOR operates on both of the tracks now. The tracks used in this photo are former MILW tracks, whereas the north/south line is ex-C&NW. The signals were used to guard the crossing, and there was even a tower at MX at one point. The stands are all that remain- all of the signals in this area appear to have been gutted and stripped of all valuables long ago. The WSOR uses short lights near some interlockings to indicate the switch allignment, but this area is otherwise all without signals. 4/4/2006 9:13:22 PM
Ron Moraca General Great photo of a vintage pair of E9A's and their train, Brian! 10/7/2008 6:01:18 PM
Andre Wehrle General Whoa. Those searchlight skeletons must have come down shortly after this, as I don't recall seeing them after my shooting days started not long after this. 4/15/2019 8:33:08 PM
