General
Those units, RS 1's and RS 3's were primary freight power on the Long Island in those days. I lived in Little Neck on the Port Washington Branch, not a heavy freight destination, and would often see one of the S-2's with maybe 10 cars-the most I ever saw was about 15-passing through on the way to Great Neck where a stone dealer got cars from the SCL.
