| Forty-four-seat dining car 8029 was originally New York Central 694 and then Penn Central 4545. It was one of 12 such diners (447-449, 691-699) completed in November and December 1947; and was the only one of the group that was acquired by Amtrak, as the other 11 cars were all retired between 1965 and 1969. The 8029 was photographed on the PANAMA LIMITED and was retired in 1976. |
