Coach-bar-lounge 3901 was built by Budd in 1950 as Southern Pacific 48-seat divided coach 2360, with a news stand and a conductor’s desk. It was one of five such cars built for service on the SUNSET LIMITED and was renumbered T&NO 433 in 1951, and then SP 2221 in 1961. Amtrak remodeled it into 32-seat coach/bar/lounge 3901 in 1973, and the car was photographed on the PANAMA LIMITED. |
