What's this?
Tied down on the industrial siding right next to the grain elevator in Jordan, NY. This is the first time I've seen a yard slug in this neck of the woods! The grain elevator here (CSX's "water level route" MP307) is serviced by a crew out of Lyons, NY. I'm really curious about this for at least a couple of reasons: one at least is the fact that power is not usually tied down here.

John Danielson General Great shot and catch! I'm trying to think what that extra compartment on the nose could be for. Maybe something for remote-controlled hump job? 7/31/2011 10:08:10 AM
Dave Curtis General I'll bet you're right John....the FingerLakes RR uses remote controlled locomotives and they have similar attachments to the nose of their units. 7/31/2011 11:27:24 AM
