Located on the Monongahela River in Newell, Pa, the last P&LE train crew left this yard on September 21, 1992 on a train bound for McKees Rocks, Pa. All the outside tracks surrounding this have been removed. Inside the building, the track for the five locomotive bays still remains. In 1993 this yard (and P&LE) was taken over by CSX and is now used primarily to handle coal trains. Obviously this section of the yard is unused and abandoned. |
