Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Toledo, Ohio, c. 1959. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Baldwin DR4-4-15 #9700, 1500-hp, at Toledo, Ohio." Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9700 and two more "Sharks" whose road numbers are not recorded. #9700 is a BF-15A built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in April of 1950, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in February of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-20). |
