Fair Train
Almost every Friday during the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition the Union Pacific ran a special passenger train from Houston to a siding at the fair site in New Orleans. It's 4:35 and one of the Fair Trains nears the end of its trip, operating over the New Orleans Public Belt behind Audubon Park. This is a typical example, with MP GP50 3515 and ex-Rock Island GP40 612, staff car CABARTON, sleeper OMAHA, lounge car 6203, and office car 102. The photo was taken from the Mississippi River levee.
