| Missouri Pacific 1961 was photographed at Race Street Yard in New Orleans, with the Mississippi River bridge in the background. This unit was constructed in 1962 as Missouri Pacific 465, one of 100 MP low-nose GP18's built in 1962-63 using trucks and other components from traded-in Alco FA and FB units. The 1961 was retired in April 1984, during a mass retirement of MP GP18's, traded-in to General Electric, and scrapped. |
