South Quay on the Providence and Worcester Railroad
Providence Port on other side - what was to be the end of the East Providence branch was South Quay, a Capitol Properties fuel unloading dock. This barge unloading facility located on Narragansett Bay, South Quay towards the left was a proposed container unloading facility. For years the Providence and Worcester Railroad brought in fill for South Quay. Doomed almost from the beginning with the NIMBYs, its officially been abandoned with the tracks removed to the new connector at Tanner Industries
