Description:
Amtrak baggage-dormitory car 9992 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1947 as Santa Fe 3479 and was fitted with a high-level transition piece in 1956. It was photographed on train No. 4 - the westbound
SOUTHWEST LIMITED
- at the Santa Fe station in Winslow, Arizona. The 9992 was one of six similar Amtrak cars (9990-9995) and was retired in October 1981.

Description:
Amtrak 9992 at Michigan City, Indiana on July 12, 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. According to the book, Amtrak By The Numbers, Number 9992 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1947 as AT&SF baggage-dormitory 3479. The high-level adapter was added in 1956. It was retired by Amtrak in October 1981.
