Here is the second of five frames of a two-page cover article entitled "Testing Materials Of Construction: How The Pennsylvania Railroad Guards Against Loss By Poor Materials." It was published originally in Supplement No. 1866 of the "Scientific American" dated 07 October 1911, page 1. Photo Caption: "The Locomotive Testing Room." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5266, an E-2A (4-4-2) "American" built in Juniata during July of 1904 and renumbered "5766" in November of 1917.
