Album Info:In a group of recently acquired photos were these color photos of GG1's in action. Unfortunately, several of the photos had no information on location or date the photo was taken, and all of them showed signs of color shifting due to age. I did some minor color corrections on them.

PC 4859 - Penn Central
Title:  PC 4859 - Penn Central
Description:  No date listed and based on the Whitehead Metals sign on the trackside building, I'm guessing Windsor, NY, as the location. this GG1 is noteworthy as being the first electric locomotive to run between Philadelphia and Harrisburn with the inaugural train, Train #25 the Metropolitan, on January 15, 1938. It also pulled the last GG1-powered freight train on November 22, 1979. Originally stored at Strasburg, it was moved to its current location at the Harrisburg Transporation Center in 1986 and was listed on the National Register of Histroic Places in 1982 and designated the state electric locomotive of Pennsylvania in 1987.

PRR 4800 - Pennsylvania RR
Title:  PRR 4800 - Pennsylvania RR
Description:  Better known as "Old Rivets", this was the first GG1 constructed with rivets rather than welded body for later ones after winning a race over the other prototype, R1. Originally it was numbered 4899 but later numbered 4800 to start the series of GG1's. It served PRR, then PC and finally Conrail. It is the only GG1 to wear the PRR, PC, Conrail Bicentennial and Conrail blue color schemes. It was sold to the National Railway Historical Society in 1980 and restored to its 1935 cosmetic appearance by the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania for display beginning on November 20, 1982.
