These are the same unit hopper cars that have moved from the eastbound Elgin, Joliet and Eastern mainline onto the new CN cloverleaf to connect with the northbound former Illinois Central mainline. Also in view in the foreground is the 300 foot ramp that leads up to the viewing platform which is some 30 feet higher than the normal ground level. In the background right is the Park Forest IC parking lot with the IC station close by on the other side of this string of cars. |
