Title:  CN 2-8-2 #3275 - Canadian National
Description:  Nice b&w photo of Canadian Natioanl 2-8-2 Mikado #3275 heading up a freight that is is front of an unidentified freighthouse. Thanks to Bruce Gemmel (see comment below), the station is Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Thanks again, Bruce for your help. Built by the Candian Locomotive Company in 1918 as Canadian Government Rwy #2875, it landed on the CN roster in the 1919 merger as #3275. Specs - serial #1484, class S-1-b, 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 276,000 lb, tractive effort of 53,113 lb. The locomotive was scrapped in February of 1959. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo. Bruce Gemmel identified this as being Stratford, Ontario, station. Thanks, Bruce.

Description:  Canadian National 2-8-2 Mikado #3372 gets a water fill from a standpipe at an unidentified locaiton. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Companuy in 1919 as Canadian Government #2972, it merged into the CN roster as their #3372 in 1919. Specs - serial #1577, class S-1-d 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 276,000 lb, tractive effort of 53,113 lb. The loco was scrapped in October of 1961. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo.

Description:  Standing with a mixed freight behind is Canadian National 2-8-2 Mikado #3547 waiting for a clear signal. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in August of 1923, the loco saw 36 years of service before retirement and scrapping in August of 1959. Specs - serial #64497, class S-2-a, 63" drivers, 188.5 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 314,800 lb, tractive effort of 55,621 lb. Description:  A pair of CN steam locos double-head a freight on this day. CN #3431 was built by Baldwin in 1913 as GTW #526 (serial #40211, class S-1-f) but came under the CN roster in 1923 as #3431. CN 6228 was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in December of 1942 (serial #68793, U-2-g class). No date, location or photographer was given for the photo.

Specs - serial #53961, class S-1-f, 63" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 272,100 lb, tractive effort of 51,638 lb. The loco was scrapped in February of 1960. No date, location or photographer was given but clues in the photo help identify the locaiton and approximate date.
