Signal box, front or track side
Title:  Signal box, front or track side
Description:  This is the front or trackside view of a signal box (there may be other names) located at Camanche, IA on the ICE/IMRL/SOO/MILW line just south of Clinton, IA. Date is 6-11-2011. The main door has a combination lock but the smaller box looks like it has a switch lock or similar item. Note also the warning to forklift this shed from this side only painted near the very bottom. The main door also has a couple of louvers and there's a vent (I think) at the right front corner. I'm pretty sure this view faces west.

ICE switch
Title:  ICE switch
Description:  This view looks railroad south on the then-ICE line from Davenport to Clinton, IA. This switch appears to be lined for the diverging track. Note the ICE version of the manual switch "throw bar (there may be other terms)" compared to, say, those of the BNSF or UP.

ICE ROW-1
Title:  ICE ROW-1
Description:  This view looks east on the now-CP, former ICE/SOO/MILW line heading west through Cotter, IA on 6-20-2011. I don't recall if the signals stayed lit continuously or only when needed. Note the switch leading to a second track a little ways away from where I was standing (geographically east). Iowa highway 92 is partly visible to the right.

Behind me is the switch where double track ends and single track begins. It was a cloudy afternoon on 6-20-2011; just look at that overcast! Iowa highway 92 is visible on the left.

Hedrick, IA depot. east side
Title:  Hedrick, IA depot. east side
Description:  The former union station for Hedrick, Iowa, was still standing as of 3-24-2019. Hedrick is located north-east of Ottumwa. At one time Hedrick was served by the CB&Q, C&NW, and the Milwaukee Road but service ended in 1934, 1971. and 1980 respectively. Part of what may have been the Milwaukee r-o-w is still visible running north and south near here. Currently a real estate agency is occupying this building. This view is the east side of the station, looking west.

Hedrick, IA depot, south side
Title:  Hedrick, IA depot, south side
Description:  This is the south end or view of the former Hedrick, Iowa union station. Note the three different signs for the town name, two on this south end and a third on the east side. As of 3-24-2019, this building was still in use as a real estate agency. The last tracks were removed in 1980 but that may be part of the old Milwaukee Road roadbed to the left. Parts of what may have been this r-o-w are visible behind me (to the south of this photo).

Hedrick, IA depot, west side
Title:  Hedrick, IA depot, west side
Description:  This is the west side of the Hedrick, Iowa depot, looking east, on 3-24-2019. Note the differences between the bay window on this side compared to the east side and the different door for the freight room/baggage room. This building is still in use, as of 3-24-2019, as a real estate agency. That may be part of the old Milwaukee Road right of way located near the depot itself; more may be visible further south (to the right) going into the town itself.
