Shown here are two PRR freight trains: one is eastbound (heading right), the other is westbound (heading left). The eastbound mixed-cargo freight is visible in the foreground. The westbound "Yankee Jet" ~ a merchandise express train from Boston to Chicago in 26 hours or less, powered by six GP-9 locomotives ~ is visible in the background. As of 04 July 2016, or 55 years later, #7128 ~ now numbered "7580" ~ is in active excursion service with Steam Into History at New Freedom, Pennsylvania. |
