Title:  UP 6451 eastbound UP loaded coal train
Description:  UP 6451 slugs up .6% grade at Aikins with an eastbound GRDX loaded coal train. Such trains used to run via the BNSF to Kansas City then be transferred over to the UP but at least somewhat recently that routing changed.

Description:  Also a somewhat newly regular sight is a GEVO on a coal train, here UP 7827 brings up the rear of a GRDX loaded coal train. These started to become common in coal service around early 2013.

Description:  Another pair of GE's lead coal loads over the hill at Aikins. In the distance the rear DPU can be seen crossing Aiken Switch Road. Aikins, Aikens, and Aiken Switch are all correct ways to identify this location.

Description:  A matched set of C44ACCTE's bring a WFAX coal load up the hill at Hanover. In about 30 seconds they'll meet a westbound coal empty. We waited an hour here hoping for one train from either way and ended up getting a meet right in front of us.

Description:  Looking east from just off of Kansas Highway 18. This bridge spans Deep Creek. This was on Rock Island Subdivision 20B which ran from McFarland (15-20 miles east) to Belleville (50+ miles west) Zeandale is about 2 miles west of here.

Description:  A relatively new C4 invades UP territory as it waits for westbound traffic just short of the crossings at Volland with the MTUKC-24 in tow. A collision at Galva caused the delay in this trains progress. The next train behind this also has a BNSF unit leading. It's like it could be 2005 again!
