Album Info:These are older large format b&w and color photos of Long Island electric passenger MU's. Most have no information about the location, date or photographer. Since I am not familiar with the New York area, any help in identifying the location would be appreciated.

LIRR MU #1001 - Long Island RR
Title:  LIRR MU #1001 - Long Island RR
Description:  Some conflicts in researching the origin of this car but it appears to have been built by American Car & Foundry in 1905 as a class MP-41, the first class of electric MU's to serve LIRR. It had a 41 foot interior. Later models had modified headlights when compared to this one. Date and location are approximate. No photographer was listed for this early photo. Could possibly be a builder photo.

Description:  This doodlebug was built in 1927 by Brill (Model 55) and listed as a class MP-54A1. The car was sold to the Atlantic & Western in december 1939. Date and location are approximate. No photographer listed but the photo came from the Art Huneke collection.

Description:  Nice wintry photo of an express baggage car. Date and location are unknown. Just recently found this photo in the booklet, Electric Heritage of the Long Island Rail Road 1905-1975" by Ron Ziel. In the caption imentioned that this was a pre-Christmas special handling mail and parcels. The special consisting of an MPB-54 car and an MPBM-54 car. The photo is by Frank Zahn.

Description:  This is an excellent example of a 1913 American Car & Foundry built MU for the Long Island RR with a seat capacity of 86. No photogrpaher was listed for this photo. Date and location are approximate but with Tim Darnell's help, this photo probably dates to a historic renovation for the LIRR Bicentennial trips around the system and may have been taken at the Morris Park Shops area.
