A lot of these museums are next to the active tracks, probably because they are on old tracks no longer used and it makes it easier to ship equipment to and from it. |

It began to fade again and in 2011 was the winner of 120 entries of the Trains Magazine Preservation Reward. Sent to the Norfolk Southern shops in Chattanooga, it was restored in 2012. |

The National Capital Trolley Museum has 1101, the first of these built for D.C. When I used to live in Maryland, it seemed like that was the only one they would ever run for several years. Hopefully, this one will be restored to running order one day, though I do not know if there are any plans for that. |

Virginian 4 |
Description: |
In 1957, it was retired and donated to the city of Princeton, West Virginia. Unfortunately, vandals got to it in front of the courthouse, where it was displayed. Thankfully, the Norfolk & Western traded a caboose for it 3 years later and fixed up the engine at their shops before donating it to the museum, where it is still preserved today! |
